Tips for best results

  • Be sure to choose a firm apple variety such as Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Gala or Fuji. Softer types of apples won’t stand up to the baking.
  • Swirl a knife through the batter if desired before baking if you want the apple chunks and cinnamon sugar more uniform through the bread.

    1. What size pans are best for mini-loaves? I have aluminum pans 8 L x 3.88 W x 2.47 H. Will this recipe make 3 loaves?

      1. I just put my mini loaves back in for 5 more minutes. I used the same pans you have and they are beautiful… almost done. I’ve made this recipe twice this week. My husband loves it!

  1. I love apple bread and this recipe sounds delicious but do you have metric measurements? I have tried converting myself and it doesn’t quite work. But that could be me!!
    Thanks

    1. Let me see if I can help.
85.1 g of packed brown sugar
      3.96 g ground cinnamon
      134 g of white sugar
      113 g unsalted butter
      8.4 g vanilla extract
      192 g flour
      6 g baking powder
      123 g or 125 ml of milk
And 2 eggs and 1 or 2 apples

Hope this helps….this is a really delicious apple bread.

  2. A suggestion for this recipe is just mixing the brown sugar and cinnamon in with the apples and it saves you an additional step. It also reduces the number of bowls needing washing!! I used 5 small apples instead of 1 and put it in a larger baking pan. Turned out great!

  3. I made this this morning and it is wonderful! The flavor is great, the bread is tender and we are really enjoying it! In my oven I had to bake it almost 55 minutes for perfection. Thank you for sharing.

  4. I just made your apple cinnamon bread. I had to bake it more than 50 minutes because when I tested it, it was still wet inside. It tastes good but a little crumbly. Probably overbaked. I shredded the apples and there was a lot of liquid in them. Didn’t know if they should have been drained. Help!!!

  5. I’ve never baked this, and I want to make it as a gift for neighbors. So because of that I would like to make a portion of it in a mini loaf and then the rest in a big one, just so I can taste it and give them the big one. Do you think this recipe would be enough for that? I didn’t really want to make two separate ones.

    1. Usually this makes 3 mini loaves which would really reduce the size of the loaf so I would suggest if you just want to taste it to maybe make one muffin and use the rest for the loaf? For a muffin the bake time would be closer to 30 minutes.

      1. I hadn’t seen the comment, so I ended up making the mini loaf. I didn’t want to loose the size of the big loaf too much, so I didn’t put as much into the mini loaf, but omg it tasted SO good! And the big loaf came out so toasty and looks amazing. So hopefully that one tastes just as good. I did have a little cinnamon and apples left over, so I don’t think I put enough in the middle layer. But thank you for the recipe! Absolutely love it!

    1. Made this loaf tonight. So quick to put together and it is absolutely delicious! We had it warm with some blueberry jam and homemade ice cream. So good!

  6. Just made this at 2AM during a bout of sleeplessness. Came out perfect. The house smells amazing and what a great surprise for my family when they get up in the morning. Thank you.

  7. Thank you for recipe, I needed this for my hubby. He has been bugin me for an apple cake, but didn’t find something that I liked. This is what I like

    1. I’m so sorry about that Cindi, can you let me know if you are on mobile or desktop computer? And what browser you are using? I can’t replicate it on any of my devices and without being able to see I don’t know how to fix it. Thank you -Melissa

  8. Hello,
I would like to bake it in a 9 x 13 pan…do you recommend doubling or tripling the recipe? Also, I assume the cooking time will change too.
    Thanks.

    1. I’ve made before and I just made my second loaf. It’s so easy and the house smells amazing. I’m freezing it for Christmas morning.
