I whipped up this easy cinnamon apple bread recipe last weekend to prepare for the momentous occasion of college football starting back up and wanted to share it with you today.  This bread is ah-mazingly delicious (I know I made that word up but believe me, it warrants it’s own made up superlatives!)

Tips for best results

  • Be sure to choose a firm apple variety such as Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Gala or Fuji. Softer types of apples won’t stand up to the baking.
  • Swirl a knife through the batter if desired before baking if you want the apple chunks and cinnamon sugar more uniform through the bread.

  1. I have made this delicious bread several times. I added 2 tablespoons of corn starch to the flour, 2 teaspoons of apple extract along with the 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, buttermilk instead of regular milk and several small dabs of butter on the brown sugar layers and baked it for 50 mins in my convection oven at 350 and EVERY time it comes out absolutely delicious!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

  2. Made the bread last week & family really enjoyed. Husband asked for it again but wanted more & “toothier” apples. So, I doubled everything and made 24 “cup breads” in muffin pan. Baked for 24 mins. Perfect!

  3. Made this for the first time yesterday and it was so good! I did use more apples than it called for and the batter was very thick, but it was easy to spread in the pan. My kids loved it – will definitely be making it again!

  4. My apple bread is in the oven so I can’t rate the taste but I added salt to the batter because the recipe doesn’t call for it, and I’ve never baked anything without it.

  5. This cake is so delicious, especially with a dollop of thick double cream!
I doubled up the ingredients and left in oven for an hour and 5 minutes. It came out perfect.

  6. This is a keeper for me! Made it today using several small red delicious apples. I had extra buttermilk in frig and used that instead of milk. I lined a glass pan with parchment paper, sprayed it with oil and then dusted it with some cinnamon sugar. Reduced oven temperature to 325° due to glass pan and it was done in about 45 minutes…thin wood skewer came out clean and top had that nice spring when lightly pressed. I like what some may say is the dryer texture and that it’s not overly sweet.

  7. I make this all the time. Its a favourite in my house. Recipe is perfect except that I use more apples, at least 2 and reduce the sugar by half. I stick to the recipe for everything else, House smells amazing and the bread is gone before it gets cold!
Amazing stuff, already a keeper for me, thank you!

  8. Do you think I can make muffins with this recipe? If so, any idea how many I would get. I would like to make jumbo muffins

  9. I made this for my boyfriend to take to work to share with his coworkers and it was a hit! I did however use heavy cream instead of milk as that’s all I had on hand at the time, and it still came out super moist and tasty. I will definitely be pinning this for later. 😍

  10. LOVED this bread — I used gluten free flour and it was so light and delicious — we added more apple to it — but seriously light and fluffy and tasted almost like a coffee cake it was that good — it lasted not even two hours out of oven! thank YOU it was a def. hit!

      1. Amazingly delicious. I’m making this bread over and over again and I have to double the portions every time if we want some to be left for the second day! Thanks for sharing.

  11. turned out somewhat dry and most of brown sugar topping crumbled off when cutting. Batter is definitely to thick for pouring. Still house smells great and does have good flavor.

    1. Made this in the oven and it was fantastic! Just curious… has anyone tried this in a bread machine on the cake setting?

  12. I just started my cooking journey (very late in life). This bread was the second recipe I ever made, it turned out BEAUTIFULLY, and my whole family is now requesting this bread. I had thrown some blueberries into the recipe when I did it and they turned into this beautiful molten purple mess of delight. I’ll be making this recipe OVER and OVER, everyone loves it.

  13. I just made this and had high hopes to give to a neighbor as a special treat. Highly disappointing. I baked for 50 minutes and after waiting 15 minutes to remove from the pan….it totally fell apart. It still tasted good but was not presentable to give to someone as a “pick me up.” On to another recipe…

  14. Highly disappointed in this recipe. Very “blah” tasting bread. Expected to have more apple flavor but I could hardly tell there were apples in it and I even used about 1 1/2 apples (more than recipe calls for).

  15. This is in the oven right now so stay tuned but I have some doubts. The recipe says to “pour” half the batter….My batter was thick & wasn’t anywhere near pourable. Also it didn’t seem like enough batter for that size pan but we’ll see in 45 minutes or so!🤞🤞

  16. Delicious and easy recipe. I cut the sugar in the batter in half and used only 1/3 cup and it was plenty sweet enough for me. Added a generous dash of allspice to the cinnamon sugar mix just because.
This recipe is so easy to make, uses simple ingredients, smells amazing, and tastes fantastic. Printing and filing it in my recipe box to make many more times.
