Tips for best results

  • Don’t skip the non-stick spray. It makes cleanup so much easier
  • Make sure your Cool Whip layer is completely smooth to help the cake mix bake evenly.
  • Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes before serving to help it set up slightly
  • Serve warm for the ultimate gooey experience.

Variations

While the classic version is absolutely delicious, I love experimenting with different flavors. Try using Golden Oreos with vanilla cake mix for a cookies-and-cream twist, or use mint Oreos for a refreshing chocolate-mint combination.

Storage

Wrap the pan with foil or plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for a few days. I actually love enjoying it straight from the fridge! For a warm treat, pop a single piece in the microwave for half a minute, or reheat a bigger portion in a 300°F oven for 10–15 minutes. The first two days give you the perfect texture.
