I don’t know if it’s the holidays or what but I’ve been feeling extra nostalgic lately. In particular thinking about my grandma whom I was very close with and who passed away ten years ago now. I was looking through old recipes of hers and found this one for Watergate Salad and instantly craved it-it had been years! For those not in the loop, this is a 1970s era desserts full of marshmallows, crushed pineapple, pudding mix and whipped cream but it’s more heavenly than it sounds!
I like to mix crushed almonds or pecans in mine but you can add whatever your favorite nut is or omit them all together, it’s still wonderful!

One of my favorites. We make this every Thanksgiving and Christmas. The kids love it. My mom made this when we were growing up and has stayed in the family.
