Why I love this recipe
I started making these colorful cookies with my boys when they were in preschool. They loved the bright, fun colors and the recipe is so simple that the kids can make it almost on their own.
I also love that the cookies are finished in under thirty minutes start to finish. With just ten minutes prep time and ten minutes of baking, you can have these delicious cookies ready in no time!
It’s also fun to experiment with different flavor combinations of Kool-Aid when making these cookies, not only for the flavor but also for the colors. They are a basic sugar drop cookie but the Kool-Aid adds a little kick of flavor to the recipes, making them sweet and fruity!

- In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer (affiliate link), combine the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Add the baking soda and flour and mix until combined.
- Stir in the Kool-aid until the color is uniform.
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a ungreased cookie sheet and bake in the preheated oven 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool 2 minutes before removing to a wire cooling rack.
If you would like more than flavor of cookies divide your dough into separate bowls now. I divided my dough into four equal portions and used one half packet of Kool-Aid per portion. If you are making only two colors you will use one packet of Kool-Aid per half, if you only want one color use two packets for the entire recipe.

Ive seen a very similar recipe on another site except they used Jello packages instead of Kool Aide packages. They called them Jello Cookies and mixed the Jello packs with a box sugar cookie mix. The cookies looked identical to these. I saved both recipes but haven’t made them yet as I just moved and am still unpacking.
What size pkg of Kool Aid? Also, would sugar free Kool Aid work?
the packet that makes 2 quarts, I think they all are unsweetened
I could not find the Kool Aid in Watermelon either. So I went to my stand by that seems to have everything and Amazon has the watermelon kool Aid packs.
