Tips for best results
- Use thawed frozen peas: They add a crisp, sweet bite in contrast to the softer canned peas.
- Let it chill: Refrigerating allows the flavors to blend beautifully.
- Adjust to taste: Feel free to experiment with the seasoning to your liking.
Variations
Try adding bacon bits for a smoky flavor, or toss in some chopped hard-boiled eggs or ham cubes for extra protein.
You can also mix in a bit of Dijon mustard to the dressing for a kick.
Serving suggestions
Easy pea salad is incredibly versatile and can be served in various ways. Here are a few of my favorites:
- as a side dish with grilled chicken or fish
- alongside a sandwich for a light lunch
- at a barbecue or picnic as a refreshing option
- on its own as a light and satisfying snack
Storage
Store any leftover pea salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Since it’s a cold salad, there’s no need for reheating leftovers – just give it a good stir and enjoy.
This pea salad recipe does not freeze well, I do not recommend storing for longer than 3 days.
