Okay, so today’s post was supposed to be a mango vodka concoction but when I went to make it I had grabbed the bag of frozen pineapple at the grocery store instead of frozen mango. ย
These things happen (especially when you have three boys under age 10 “helping” you shop!) So mangos will wait and instead, you get a Frozen Pineapple Margaritas, an amazing fruity drink that blends the flavorย of a classic margarita with the perfect blend of orange and pineapple!
Ingredients
- frozen pineapple chunks
- orange juice
- lime juice
- tequila blanco
- triple sec or cointreau (orange liqueur)
- turbinado sugar or salt for glass rim
- fresh lime & orange wedges forย garnish
Step by step
- Combine pineapple, orange juice, lime juice, tequila and triple sec in a blender (affiliate link) and pulse until uniform. (If your margarita looks too thick, thin with an additional 1/4 cup orange juice.)
- Dip cocktail glass rims in a shallow bowl of water, then into a small plate of sugar. before you pour in the margarita. Garnish with a lime wedge or orange wedges. Serve immediately.

Tips for best results
- You can serve this margarita rimmed with salt or sugar…it’s a personal preference. ย I drink mine both ways but I think I tend to prefer the sugar over the salt rim. Use a coarse sugar like turbinado or raw sugar if you have it on hand.
- If using salt consider adding a little lime zest to the salt for extra flavor. Use a coarse salt like sea salt or kosher salt.
- I found it sweet enough from just the pineapple but you can adjust the sweetness of the margarita by adding a sweetener like agave nectar, honey, or simple syrup.
*For a mocktail version without alcohol omit tequila and triple sec!*

so tasty!
Just wanting to make sure, because the measurements seem a bit off. Itโs half a cup of tequila, but only half an OUNCE of triple sec?…
Thank you so much for catching that Esther, you are totally correct, it should have read 1/2 cup of Triple Sec, I have fixed that now!
Thanks for your fast response, Melissa! One more question, how many servings is this recipe for?
I divide this into four servings when I make it!
This is my new favorite summer dessert. I’m obsessed!
