What To Do With Leftover Prepared Pumpkin Pie Filling

1. Bake Pumpkin Pie Cookies 

Your taste buds will love this easy recipe! Make a simple sugar cookie dough and roll tablespoon-sized balls of dough. Use your thumb to make an indentation in the center of each dough ball and fill it with a teaspoon of pumpkin filling. Bake the cookies at 350˚F for 10 minutes. You can also try pumpkin oatmeal cookies as well!

2. Make Pumpkin Pie French Toast

Sweet pumpkin pie filling with French toast is one of my favorite things. Slice up a thick piece of bread, dip it in a batter of egg, milk, and cinnamon, and then fry it in a pan with a little butter or oil. Top the finished French toast with warmed leftover filling for a delicious and special breakfast treat. 

3. Create a Mini Pumpkin Pie Tart

Preheat the oven to 350˚F and prepare a mini muffin pan with non-stick spray. Fill each cup with a tablespoon of leftover pumpkin puree and a little bit of cinnamon. Top with a circle of puff pastry cut to fit the muffin cups. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. 

4. Transform Leftover Pie Into Pie Filling Bars

This is a great recipe for breakfast! Preheat the oven to 375˚F and spray an 8-by-8-inch pan with non-stick spray. Beat together a favor graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and a little cinnamon until combined.

Press the graham cracker mixture into the pan and bake for 10 minutes. Spread the leftover pumpkin pie filling over the crust and bake for 15 minutes. Cut the pumpkin pie bars when cool.

5. Make Pumpkin Pie Pancakes

Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, and pumpkin pie filling to form a batter. Heat a pan or griddle over medium heat and add a dollop of batter to the pan. Cook each side for about 2 minutes and serve with maple syrup. 

6. Bake a Pumpkin Pie Trifle in a Jar

Layer slices of pound cake, pumpkin pie filling, and whipped cream in a glass jar. Add a few more pieces of pound cake on top and finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon. 

7. Make Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Pie

Follow the instructions on a carton of store-bought ice cream and pour it into a prepared graham cracker crust. Top the ice cream with 1 cup of pumpkin pie filling and freeze for 6 hours. Let the pie soften at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving. 

8. Create a Mini Pumpkin Pie Mason Jar Pie

This is a really easy way to get that pumpkin pie flavor with leftover pie filling. Layer a few tablespoons of pumpkin pie filling and graham cracker crumbs in a quart-sized Mason jar. Top with a large scoop of vanilla or cinnamon ice cream. Drizzle with caramel sauce and mini marshmallows if desired. 

9. Mix Up Pumpkin Pie Milkshakes

Combine 2 cups of milk, 1/2 cup of pumpkin pie filling, and 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice in a blender (affiliate link). Add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and blend until smooth. Top off with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

10. Pumpkin Donut Holes 

Pumpkin flavored donut holes are the perfect sweet breakfast treat to use up that leftover pumpkin pie filling! They are surprisingly easy to make as well.  

11. Make No-Bake Pumpkin Pie

Crumble a graham cracker pie crust into a bowl and combine with a little melted butter. Press the crust into the bottom of a shallow dish. Whip together a can of sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree, and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.

Fold in a tub of whipped topping and spread the mixture over the graham cracker crust. Sprinkle with chopped nuts or mini marshmallows. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving. 

12. Transform Leftover Pie Into Milkshake Shots

These are the perfect way to use that homemade pumpkin pie filling. Place 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie filling in the bottom of each shot glass.

Fill each glass 3/4 of the way with ice cream and a little bit of half-and-half. Top it off with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately. 

13. Bake Individual Pumpkin Pies in a Muffin Tin

Make a baked pumpkin pie in miniature form. This is a delicious way to use that leftover pumpkin pie filling. Preheat the oven to 375˚F. Grease a 12 muffin tin with butter (or use non-stick muffin tins).

Cut out 12 circles from a refrigerated pie crust and, using your fingers, press each crust into each muffin cup. Place 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie filling in each muffin cup and top with a second round of pie crust. Use a fork to seal the edges.

Bake your mini pumpkin pies for 20 minutes or until golden brown. This will be just like a regular pumpkin pie but more fun!

14. Pumpkin Spice Latte

If you’re not looking for a dessert recipe, this is the best way to use that leftover pie filling. Warm up leftover pie filling in the microwave and add a splash of milk, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a dash of pumpkin pie spice. Pour it into a mug filled with hot espresso or brewed coffee and top it with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

15. Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal

Make your breakfast taste like delicious desserts by adding leftover pie fillings. Start by preparing your favorite oatmeal according to package instructions. Once cooked, scoop the warm oatmeal in a bowl and top it with a generous spoonful of pumpkin pie filling or leftover canned pumpkin. Sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon and enjoy!
