Ingredients
- peanut-shaped Nutter butter cookies
- round king sizenutter butter cookies
- white candy melts
- candy corn pieces
- candy eyes
- orange Reese’s pieces (can substitute orange M&M)
- red cookie icing
Step by step
- In a microwave, melt the candy wafers on a low or defrost setting in 30-second increments until smooth. Once smooth, set aside and let it cool slightly.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate the round Nutter Butter cookies and place a peanut shaped Nutter Butter on top.
- Spread a bit of the melted white chocolate onto the round cookie, then position a peanut-shaped nutter butter on the bottom half. Work swiftly to avoid the chocolate setting too soon; it’s best to do this in small batches.
- For the tail feathers, arrange five pieces of candy corn pieces closely together on top of the cookie and press gently into the melted chocolate. The round cookie at the back will help support the candy corn pieces and keep them in place.
- Using the back of a skewer, toothpick, or the tip of a chopstick, dip into the white chocolate and dab some on top of the Nutter Butter where the eyes will go. Quickly press two candy eyeballs onto the cookie and secure them by gently pressing.
- Dab some white chocolate below the eyes and place a halved Reese’s Pieces for the turkey beak, pressing lightly to attach.
- For the final touch, pipe red cookie icing next to the beak to create the turkey’s wattle or snood.
- Let the cookies fully set before serving, which will take about 15-20 minutes at room temperature or 5-10 minutes in the fridge if you’re in a hurry.
Tips for best results
- Work in small batches: The white candy melts quickly, so assemble a few cookies at a time.
- Press gently but firmly: When adding candy corn and eyes, press just enough to secure them without breaking the cookie.
- Use cooled candy melts: Let the melted candy cool slightly before assembling to avoid melting the candy decorations.
- Refrigerate to set: To speed up the setting process, pop the cookies in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.
Variations
If round Nutter Butter cookies aren’t available, you can substitute them with any round sandwich cookie, like Oreos, Golden Oreos, or another brand of peanut butter sandwich cookies. Walmart’s Great Value brand is a good alternative.
You can use white chocolate chips or any color candy melts in place of the white candy melts, depending on your preference.
For the wattle or snood, you can swap red cookie icing with melted red candy melts or red frosting. Just pipe it using a small piping bag with the tip snipped off. If using melted candy, let it cool slightly before piping to prevent it from running.

These cookies are adorable wrapped up individually in clear treat bags for party favors or on top of a Thanksgiving-themed cake as adorable edible decorations. And of course they make a great addition to your Thanksgiving dessert table.
