That means actually cooking times for you are going to be much faster because you’re just basically reheating it. But the best way to eat corned beef hash is crispy and golden brown, so let’s get into how to make that happen.

How to Make Corned Beef Hash Crispy

You can make corned beef hash with canned corned beef or buy it premade. Whichever brand of corned beef hash you buy (Hormel corned beef hash, Libby’s corned beef hash, Armour, or Great Value at Walmart) they will all be indistinguishable, so pick whatever is convenient.

There are three different ways to prepare cooked, canned corned beef hash that will give it the crispy texture that you’re looking for: air fryer, skillet, or oven. No matter which method of cooking you use, the whole process is quick, easy, and makes a delicious meal.

Air fryer

The air fryer is the king of crispy, and depending on what kind of air fryer you have, you can make almost anything in it! It’s so much easier to reach that desired crispiness in an air fryer because the air and heat are constantly circulating around the top, bottom, and sides of your food.

That means not only does your food get crispy, but it also cooks very evenly. Plus, it’s the most healthy option because you don’t have to use any oils or butter to achieve that crispy texture.

1. Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Place the corned beef hash in the air fryer basket, making sure to spread it out evenly.

3. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

4. Increase the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the desired crispiness is achieved. 5. Remove the corned beef hash from the air fryer and enjoy!

Skillet

Using a skillet on the stovetop is probably the most common way to cook canned corned beef hash. Be sure to keep the heat up and keep an eye on your corned beef hash. You’ll need a consistently high temperature to make it crispy.

1. Preheat a regular large skillet or a well-seasoned cast iron skillet over low-medium heat.

2. Add 1 tablespoon of oil or butter to the pan and heat. Vegetable oils will be best for not changing the flavor of the hash. Butter works too, but butter burns more easily than an oil with a high smoke point like vegetable oil.

3. Add the corned beef hash to the skillet and spread it out in an even layer.

4. Increase to medium-high heat and let the hash cook for 2-3 minutes or until it begins to brown.

5. Flip the hash over and press down on it with a spatula, then let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.

6. Continue flipping and pressing until the hash is crisp and browned on both sides.

Finally, if you want to make a crispy crumbled canned corned beef hash, you can also put it in the oven. The trick here is to use a baking sheet rather than a baking dish.   1. I used the oven method. At 25 minutes it was no where near done. I bumped up the temp to 400 and went another 15-20 minutes- THEN it was done.
