Why I love this recipe

This is a warm, savory dip that just screams comfort food. I love that it is a simple dump-and-bake recipe as well, no fussy instructions or complicated ingredients.

You can also serve this with a variety of dipping items to suite different diets: obviously chips are great but for your keto or low carb friends you can serve this yummy dip with veggies for dipping, so its perfect for a crowd.

Ingredients

Only 6 easy ingredient (with a few optional add-ins) are needed for this recipe.

  • shredded chicken – you can use canned chicken or shredded baked chicken breasts or thighs, or rotisserie chicken, just make sure it is not overly seasoned so the ranch seasoning can stand out
  • bacon – cook and crumble your own or buy it pre-cooked for convenience
  • cream cheese – makes the dip creamy and rich
  • sour cream – the tang of sour cream balances the cream cheese
  • ranch seasoning – the star of the show, use store-bought or make your own
  • cheddar cheese – I recommend shredding the cheese freshly as pre-shredded cheeses have a powder coating to prevent sticking that can affect your final texture

Step by step

  1. Combine the ranch seasoning with the cream cheese and sour cream.
  2. Add in the bacon, cheddar, chicken and hot sauce, reserving some cheese and bacon for topping. Mix well.
  3. Top it off with the reserved cheese and crumbled bacon
  4. Bake for twenty minutes until heated through.
  5. Garnish with green onion, serve warm, and let the compliments roll in!

Serving suggestions

As I mentioned you can serve this chicken bacon ranch dip with a variety of foods for dipping:

  • tortilla chips
  • fritos
  • pita chips
  • crackers – Ritz, Saltine, Townhouse
  • crostini
  • chopped carrots, celery, bell pepper
  • with crusty bread for spreading

Storage

Store the dip covered in the refrigerator up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave.

I do not recommend freezing crack chicken dip as the taste and texture will be altered because of the cheese.

  1. My favorite game day snacks are all these cookies I spend the better half of my days baking. But I am adding one new member to that list- bacon ranch chicken dip.

Thanks for making a believer out of me. You did justice to this.
