Description

Indulge in a bite-sized delight with our irresistible homemade chocolate cake pops. These delectable bite-sized treats are perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Chocolate cake (homemade, store-bought, or made from box cake mix)
  • 1/3 cup chocolate frosting (we suggest our chocolate buttercream frosting)
  • lollipop sticks/cake pop sticks – find these at the grocery or craft store
  • melting chocolate, almond bark, or chocolate candy melts
  • sprinkles or decorations of your choice

Instructions

  1. If using homemade cake, let the cake cool completely before starting the recipe. Crumble the chocolate cake into fine crumbs using your hands in a large bowl or using a food processor.
  2. Mix in about 1/3 cup chocolate frosting with the crumbled cake, adding more as needed, until the mixture is moist and holds together when pressed.
  3. Roll the cake mixture into small balls, about the size of a walnut, and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.
  4. Insert a lollipop stick into each cake ball. Place the chocolate cake balls in the freezer for about 15 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt the chocolate or candy melts according to the package instructions in a medium bowl, then dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate coating, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off before placing back on the baking sheet.
  6. Decorate the cake pops with sprinkles or other decorations while the chocolate coating is still wet.
  7. Place the decorated cake pops upright in a foam block or cake pop stand to set completely.
