Description

It’s easy to make your own homemade Texas Toast with just 5 ingredients and 15 minutes! After making Texas Toast at home you’ll never go back to store bought!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sticks of butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 loaf bakery white bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cut the bread into 1″ slices.
  3. In a small bowl, microwave butter for one minute or until fully melted.
  4. Add garlic powder, salt, and oregano to the melted butter.
  5. Brush the butter mixture onto both sides of bread with a pastry brush (affiliate link) and place on baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh white bread, submarine bread, or Italian bread
  • Use a serrated knife to slice to bread without squishing it.
  • I do not recommend freezing texas toast. Make it fresh for the best results, it only takes a few minutes!
  • Margarine can be substituted for butter without affecting the end result.
