Description

Indulge in the delight of homemade Garlic Swirl Bread, brimming with the vibrant flavors of fresh garlic and parsley. Made with only seven simple ingredients, you’ll savor a warm, garlic-infused delight straight from the oven.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 8 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 6 tbsp fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 350°F
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix the dry ingredients together: flour, yeast, and salt, until well combined.
  3. Then, add the buttermilk and 1 tablespoon of butter. Mix everything using a spatula until a small ball of dough forms. Set it aside in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. When the dough has doubled in size, transfer it to a flat surface, sprinkle it with flour, and roll it into a 16×10-inch rectangle using a rolling pin.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining butter, freshly chopped garlic, and parsley.
  6. Spread the garlic mixture evenly over the dough using a fork or knife. Roll the dough into a log.
  7. Cut the log of dough in half and braid the two halves together. Twist the dough into a figure 8 shape and transfer it into a medium-sized loaf pan or baking dish.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes in a preheated oven at 350°F.
