Description
Easy peppercorn sauce is the perfect toppings for your favorite steak or chicken recipe. This easy 5 ingredient pan sauce recipe takes just minutes to whip up and is the perfect finishing touch for your meal!

- 1/3 cup marsala wine
- 3/4 cup low sodium beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon crush black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Cook steak or chicken in heavy pan and remove to a plate, tent with foil and allow to rest while you make the sauce.
- Add the marsala and scrape the bottom of the pan to deglaze.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add broth and simmer until reduced by half.
- Add cream and peppercorns and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Make a cornstarch slurry with cornstarch and two tablespoons of cold water. Add to gravy and stir until thickened. Serve immediately.
Notes
- if not using a pan with dripping melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan before adding the marsala
- if you do not have low sodium broth use 1/2 cup of broth with 1/4 cup water
- you can substitute another cooking wine like brandy for the marsala or just use more broth if you prefer no alcohol
