It’s easy to make your own corned beef spice seasoning at home! This simple recipe is perfect for making stovetop corned beef and cabbage or any of your favorite corned beef recipes.

- 2 teaspoons peppercorns
- 8 whole cloves
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 cardamom pods
- 2 tablespoons coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon star anise seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions
- Add mustard seeds, peppercorns, anise seeds, cloves and cardamom pods to a small bowl.
- Heat a medium skillet over medium high heat and add the seed mixture to the pan. Toast for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Add the mixture to a food processor and pulse a few times to break up the seeds. Return to the bowl. Alternatively, you could use a spice grinder.
- Add crushed bay leaves, coriander, red pepper flakes, and ginger to the bowl and mix well.
- Use as normal to cook your corned beef and cabbage or as desired.
