- 1 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional-substitute with more chocolate chips if omitting)
Instructions
- Layer all ingredients in a 1 quart jar, pressing each down firmly before adding the next layer.

Gift with printable card or the following instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick spray.
- Pour brownie mix into a large bowl and stir to mix.
- Add 3/4 cup melted butter, 2 large eggs, 2 tablespoons of water, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and stir until blended.
- Spread mix in the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Cool completely before cutting.
