- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1 1/2 cups cranberry juice
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 12 whole cloves
- 1 medium orange, sliced
- 1 inch of fresh ginger, sliced thinly
- 2 star anise

- Pour the apple cider and cranberry juice into the slow cooker.
- Wrap the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, ginger slices, and star anise in cheesecloth or a paper coffee filter. Tie it securely then place it into the cider mixture.
- Slice the orange and add the pieces directly into the slow cooker.
- Set the slow cooker to low and let it simmer for 4-6 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high.
- When ready to serve, remove the spice pouch. Garnish with additional orange slices and cinnamon sticks, if desired.
Notes
Tying the spices makes serving easy, if you don’t want to tie them up simply add to the slow cooker and strain out before serving.
