Work in small batches: The white candy melts quickly, so assemble a few cookies at a time. Press gently but firmly: When adding candy corn and eyes, press just enough to secure them without breaking the cookie. Use cooled candy melts: Let the melted candy cool slightly before assembling to avoid melting the candy decorations. Refrigerate to set: To speed up the setting process, pop the cookies in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.

Description

Add some fun to your Thanksgiving table with these no-bake Nutter Butter Turkeys! They are easy to assemble and perfect for kids to help with.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 24 regular peanut-shaped Nutter Butter cookies
  • 12 king size round Nutter Butter cookies
  • 1/2 cup white candy melts, more as needed
  • 120 candy corn pieces
  • 48 candy eyeballs
  • orange Reese’s pieces, cut in half
  • red cookie icing

Instructions

  1. In a microwave, melt the candy wafers on low or defrost in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Separate the round nutter butter cookies and place them on top.
  3. Spread a small amount of melted white chocolate onto each round cookie, then quickly press a peanut-shaped nutter butter onto the bottom half.
  4. For the feathers, arrange five candy corn pieces closely together on the top half of the cookie, gently pressing them into the melted chocolate.
  5. Using the back of a skewer or tip of a chopstick, dip into the white chocolate and dab small amounts where the eyes will go. Quickly press two candy eyeballs onto the cookie.
  6. Dab more white chocolate below the eyes, then place half a Reese’s Pieces on the beak, pressing lightly to attach.
  7. For the final touch, pipe red cookie icing next to the beak to create the turkey’s wattle or snood.
  8. Allow the cookies to fully set for 15-20 minutes at room temperature, or speed up the process by refrigerating for 5-10 minutes. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If round nutter butter cookies aren’t available, use any round sandwich cookies like Oreos, Golden Oreos, or peanut butter cookies. Walmart’s Great Value brand works well too.
  • You can also substitute white candy melts with white chocolate chips or other colored candy melts.
  • For the wattle or snood, swap red cookie icing with melted red candy wafers or red frosting. Use a small piping bag, and let melted candy cool slightly before piping to avoid it running.
