It’s easy to make homemade Au Jus with just a few simple ingredients! Whether you are making beef stew or French dip sandwiches, au jus maxes out the flavor.

- 1/4 cup beef drippings
- 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat drippings in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until completely liquified.
- Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 3 minutes.
- Add beef broth a little at a time, whisking constantly. Add wine and increase heat to high and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
Store leftover au jus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
