Easy Shepherds Pie with Instant Mashed Potatoes

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 servings instant potatoes (along with milk and butter to prepare according to the box instructions)
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix, plus water for preparation
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 12 ounce package frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Lawry’s seasoning salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Meanwhile prepare the gravy and mashed potatoes according to package directions.
  4. Drain cooked ground beef of excess grease and return to the skillet. Add gravy, vegetables, broth,  Worcestershire, and seasoning salt to the meat mixture and stir to mix. Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Transfer the vegetable and meat mixture to a 8 by 8 inch or 9 by 9 inch baking dish.
  6. Top the meat with the mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake 30 minutes or until potatoes are golden brown and let sit 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave.
