Description

No need to fry, these Crispy Oven Baked Onion Rings with crunchy panko bread crumbs are easy to whip up in just 20 minutes!


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 large sweet onion, peeled and cut into 1/2" rings
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 cup flour
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups Italian style panko breadcrumbs
  • nonstick spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Spray a baking sheet generously with nonstick spray.
  3. Mix flour, cayenne pepper and a pinch each of salt and pepper in a medium bowl and set aside.
  4. In another bowl mix eggs and mayonnaise.
  5. Pour panko breadcrumbs in a 3rd bowl.
  6. Dip onion rings first into flour mixture, then eggs, then panko crumbs.
  7. Lay rings in single layer, not touching, on baking sheet.
  8. Spray rings generously with nonstick spray and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
