Description

This Nutella Buttercream Frosting has the perfect balance of sweetness and depth. It’s quick to prepare with just 6 ingredients, ready in under 10 minutes, and transforms any cake into a showstopper.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 3.5 cups powdered sugar (spooned and leveled)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Nutella hazelnut spread
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

  1. Using a mixer on medium speed, beat 1 cup of room temperature unsalted butter until it’s fluffy.
  2. Turn the mixer to low and add the powdered sugar slowly, making sure it’s fully incorporated.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt on medium speed until smooth.
  4. With the mixer back on low, slowly add the heavy whipping cream. Turn the speed up to medium and continue mixing until fully blended.
  5. Add the Nutella last and mix on medium until everything is evenly blended.

Notes

To get an accurate amount of powdered sugar, lightly spoon it into your measuring cup until it overflows, then scrape the excess off with the flat side of a knife. Scooping straight from the bag can pack it down and throw off your measurements.
