- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1-2 teaspoons white sugar, or to taste
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large dutch oven (affiliate link) over medium heat, sauté ground beef, onion, and garlic until ground beef is browned. Break apart the meat as you go.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Bring chili to boil. Once the sauce is bubbling, lower the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, until the chili thickens.
