APPLE FILLING – 4 tablespoon butter – ½ cup granulated sugar – ¼ cup water – 2 teaspoons cornstarch – ½ teaspoon cinnamon – ½ teaspoon nutmeg – pinch of salt – 2 large apples, peeled and diced Brown Sugar Crumble – 2 tablespoons brown sugar – ¼ teaspoon cinnamon – ¼ cup flour – 1 ½ tablespoons butter, softened – 1 egg – 1 tablespoon water – 1 puff pastry dough sheet, thawed
Boil sugars, spices, water, and butter
Simmer apples for 5 minutes
Mix crumble topping
Slice edges of puff pastry and fill with apple mixture
Spoon on crumble topping
Criss cross and add an egg wash
Bake for 20 minutes.
