I don’t know about you, but for me Thanksgiving is all about creating those classic recipes that take me back to my own childhood. Green Bean Casserole is a Thanksgiving side dish that I absolutely can NOT celebrate without.

While you can make green bean casserole from scratch with fresh green beans and mushrooms, this version with canned green beans and cream of mushroom soup is every bit as delicious and pulls together much faster.

We actually make this Green Bean Casserole recipe at least once a month. When a side dish is this easy and tastes this good, why limit it to only Thanksgiving Day?

This easy Green Bean Casserole is super simple to make, which is another reason to make it often!

Serving suggestions

For Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter I like to pair this casserole with sweet potato casserole or candied yams, cheddar cheese mashed potatoes, and soft dinner rolls along with roast turkey, ham, or Instant Pot leg of lamb.

For everyday meals, this is a great side dish for baked chicken breast, baked pork chops, or steakhouse-style steak.

Storage

Store leftover green bean casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
